I Wasn't Well For A While

Tonight you lie awake
Whispering prayers you never understood
"I'm not your basic insomniac", you say
Dream tickets all used up
On rock stars and smashed electric guitars
Without them you can't close those eyes

You tell me there's no way out
There's no way out.

It's pouring outside
I'm drenched in something other than rainwater
Did you know who I cried for last night?
Did you know when I think of you, I falter?

Tonight we're together
Wondering where we are, how we got so far
Just to break apart and throw it all away
Like moonbeams on tempered glass
These hairline cracks so apparent everywhere
These scars, I don't know how they got there

Your permanent markers are out of ink
So you're using felt-tips instead.

Again, it's pouring outside
I'm drenched in something other than rainwater
Did you know who I cried for last night?
Did you know when I think of you, I falter?

This all adds up to a seven-part song
The acrid stench of burnt plastic
The inexplicable silence wedged in between
I sank my finger into something sharp
Ths scarlet showdown screaming for something
I do not wish to find out.

This will be the last
This will be the last song I'm writing for you.

(but I may break this promise)

-----

The past two days I found out what it's like to keep getting laughed at. Cos
1) I was a loser at softball. Stoned and forgot to run! Wow! I miss soccer hokay.

2) I was a loser at chem. Didn't get any excess reactant. Jialun laughed exceptionally loud for this THERE GOES MY FULL MARKS! Never mind at least my 7's a for-sure :D

3) I was a loser during chem practical. Shiying made me smell aqeous ammonia cos she was BORED. I thought it was NaOH on the bottle when it was actually NH4OH, and took a really big whiff. The bloody smell stayed in my nose for 2 hours and 45 minutes.

4) Many other minor stuff, can't remember.

I am angry today. For Very Stupid Reasons. NEXT WEEK'S GOING TO BE HECTIC (weird, since there's no tests and we have practically three days FREE OF LESSONS)
