So This Is The New Year
2008's Resolutions
1. Study harder (inclusive of actually going for lectures, paying attention in class and finishing tutorials)
2. Be nicer & friendlier & a better person (includes more smiles)
3. Stop nagging, stop scolding
4. Curb the bubbletea/donut craze
5. Know what's actually happening around the world.
Doesn't have to include devoting myself to choir and putting choir as top priority (along with studies), cos I already do. :)
I began New Year's Eve dreading it, cos I thought I had to pop over to Melodie's to get the projector and send it to school by myself via Friendly Neighbourhood SBS, but thank goodness with a spark of luck I didn't need to. So the day got a bit better, even though I was stuck at home studying my arse off haha. But Sherwin was in my ear the whole time from 3pm to 10pm HAHA and we counted down together, and she is still in my ear at this very moment. :)
And 12 hours passed just like that, So This Is The New Year. Both Sherwin and I realised that everyone has been blogging uber long posts about 2007 so we decided to give it a try, but I don't think mine would score in the content area haha. Last year (omg) has been fraught with so many trials and tribulations, new friends new faces new second homes, and I'm glad to say that I've learnt a lot from 2007.
07, for one, definitely didn't start out how I thought it would be, for I never thought I would be in VJ choir, ever. But looks like I pulled through the ups and downs of this fabulous CCA all the same. And through this CCA I've seen many sides of a lot of people and learnt so much more about the choral world, and hopefully this list of things to learn will continue growing cos I never want to stop finding out new things about this choir. VJ is nothing without choir, honestly. I just hope the new year signifies a new, fresh start for many, and a new drive and newfound confidence as well, to give in their all for choir because that's what makes VJChoir so successful: the members. I'm sorry if I spent the last half of the year screaming my head off and giving you a black face, but I thought I did what I had to do. Here's to a brighter, smilier 2008 anyway. :)
I never thought JC could find me such close friends, everyone somehow had this mindset that 2 years won't give you much true friends. But I found three in a short span of around 10 months maybe? And Novabelle, Oliver, Sherwin, you know I'm talking about you :) Thank you so much for staying by my side and spending so much time talking to me, you know I love you guys. Also to Lix and Mongxz, even though we may not be as close as in the beginning of the year, but I know the base of our friendship is still there, and I will continue being as much of a friend as I can and I will always support the two of you whenever, wherever. I miss the treehouse. PPG Forever, jiemuixz for lyfe sealed with blood. <3
This year also saw me into the world of Chinese Songs, and amazingly, I quite enjoy belting out those tunes with all the cheenapok choristers I know, haha, especially Nono Ng but honestly, no offence. It's something I would rather die than do back in old Secondary School days, but I guess people change. Okay that was really random haha.
I also kinda disliked Christmas this year, it was just so different from the past years, even though past years were boring, but at least I felt very very festive. This year was just a tiring Christmas. And completely no overseas trips as well, to feel the Christmas cheer in faraway foreign lands. Roar.
If I were to describe the overall feeling of 2007 in one word, I would say Independent. Suddenly Me Time was really important, and I learnt that there need not be people there by your side all the time to guide you along, because JC hardens you like that and you know that in the future, it wouldn't always be so smooth-sailing and spoonfeeding and heeheehaha like in secondary school. Actually Stupid wouldn't be too bad a choice either, considering the killer curriculum and the number of Smart Asses Who Don't Need To Study To Get As around me.
Either way, here's to a good year ahead.
(even though I have a huge mosquito bite + I banged into my wardrobe twice in the first hour of 08)
Have I mentioned how screwed I am for Econs R Paper?
A random thought, I think this year's year 1 CTs would be really weird. 08S37 is just... WEIRD.
