I'm Home.

The trip wasn't good or bad, it was just an experience that I, and I bet a lot of others, will never ever forget. The usual summary, all photos up soon (people who owe me photos you know what to do :D):

(a) Took part in 3 categories.
i. Youth - Champions
ii. Open Mixed - Third
iii. Folklore - Fourth
Disappointing, but whatever it is, we strengthened ties and formed bonds during the trip (wah like sigma and pi bonds - oh no, end of choir means beginning of studying) and now we have nowhere to go but upwards. We can blame it on the mikes, the judges, the entire competition and how it is run, but in the end we are still very largely at fault. Cheers to restructuring and wake up calls. Learn from it, VJ Choir, you guys have potential, all you gotta do is stop complaining and make full use of it, and you'll achieve greater things than all the batches before you have ever achieved. Well at least now you know how much commitment matters in this choir.

(b) Visited many Dream Places like
i. Westminster Abbey (Da Vinci Code!)
ii. Tower Bridge
iii. Buckingham Palace
iv. Big Ben
v. St Paul's Cathedral
vi. King's Cross Station (Harry Potter!)
vii. Christchurch (where they filmed Harry Potter!)

(c) Watched Les Miserables the Musical (but fell asleep for one teeny scene)
(d) Watched The Woman in Black (closed my eyes for the whole second half)
(e) Took the London tube like mad
(f) Shopped like crazy, there were Marks & Spencer and GAP and Primark and DAVID&GOLIATH, went mad there with all the cute stuff they got.
(g) Shivered like hell in the cold wind in Llangollen, London was much sunnier. Hated the rain, the Welsh people all gaped in horror when the compere explained Dum Belle as a rain chant.
(h) Loved the structure of all the quaint buildings and terribly intricate carvings of all the monuments.

Improved relations with several people too, especially Maymay Loo, we talked for like 2 to 3 hours on the plane home and revealed many secrets to each other. HAHA. Nights were spent with many different people and they were all wonderful, especially the long talks with Isabelle May Sherwin.

Anyway thanks to Lix, Novabelle, Jia Ling, Wayne, Desmond, Sherwin, May, Isabelle, Year 1 Exco, Rayrin, Gabriel and most importantly, Mr Kwei, some for listening, some just for being there, everything. You all are cool people and very much appreciated :) Oh and if you guys have watched the videos, sorry cos I know I told all of you to get your hair cut so it won't block your vision, but I didn't set a good example cos Lix told me I look horrible with my hair pinned all the way back. :(

Second, and last trip.
Not fulfilling, not satisfactory in the choral POV, especially since our last time on stage was so mediocre, but it was a good enough trip for me. It really helped me open my eyes to many things, and definitely allowed the whole choir as well as I myself, to draw strength from this semi-failure. Sorry to everyone who had high expectations of us. We have let you down, but never again.

I realise I keep talking about the choir as if I was still inside it. No pressure, juniors :D

All the best to the year1s and may you pull this choir back up from the - is it that bad to describe it as dumps? Never mind. All the way anyway. Sing well and sing proud to be a part of white gowns pearls red ties black suits. And continue to uphold our good reputation of doing justice to every song we sing.
No Man Is An Island.

P.S What do I do now on Saturday mornings man
I already miss performing. Will try not to annoy my classmates in class with my choral singing.
